This is Kylie. She is almost five years old, she is cute, she is sharp, she is funny, she is fun, she is creative, she is smart, she is caring, she loves animals, she loves her siblings, she is STUBBORN!!!!!! I love this child with all my heart but Cameron and I are at the point where not even the parenting books can help us. No she isn't mean to other kids, no she isn't in to everything, no she doesn't scream and shout and yell, but she does talk back, she doesn't hear when we try to reason with her. She just does her own thing. Everything has to be her idea, everything has to be the way she envisions. She doesn't listen, she is in her own time zone and right now she is making it really hard for me to be a nice sane mother to her. So I have had her in her room since 8 this morning and it is now almost 5. Yes I have fed her and let her use the restroom but other then that to the room it is. Mostly just so that I can think up a new way to raise her. A hole new way completely. I am doing the research and will re attempt in the morning with strategy #2. Wish me luck

I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I hate those times when you feel like you have no idea what you are doing. Hope you find answers!!
I am so sorry for you and Kylie, You are a good mom Janae and you both will ger through this, Kylie is a bright little girl. Love and hugs to both of you.
Oh it reminds me of Samantha so much. She too has spent a lot of time in a time out or in her room so I can gather myself and put in a new game plan. Sami has great ideas and has a very strong attitude but it is not ok to do those things when you have been told not to or to talk to me the way she does sometimes. I have found 3 of Sami's favorite things to do with her and I try to drop what I am doing to do them with her but not every time (they need to learn that they don't get it always too) When I have a project I always ask for Sami's opinion. This helps her to be creative in a controlled situation. The talking back I ignore the first few times and if it continues it is a pop in the mouth and a time away from me. Every child is different and you do have to have a game plan for each. It will get better when you get the right one figured out. LOVE LOVE LOVE, a blessing and prayres are always good too.
